Can I just say I LOVE your brand name?? I'm envisioning my dog putting her paw down, demanding I treat her right with your treats 😁😁

I'm so happy you're still pursuing this even through all the red tape you didn't know would exist when you started out.

You know, I thought of you the other day as I stood in the dog treat aisle at my pet store.

Thank you, Kristi! I've been drowning in day-to-day stuff and this is literally the first moment I've had to get on Substack since last week. I love the name, too! Unfortunately, so did someone else in the U.K. before me. 😂

“Respectfully, fuck off.”

YES!! I 100% agree with you here. You do not need a full, Harvard MBA worthy business plan to get started.

I would also add - start with an MVP, minimal viable product. Meaning, just get out there with something and learn from it. You don’t need to wait for perfection or a BIG LAUNCH moment. Just get out there and refine as you go.

That's an awesome suggestion, Jessica! I considered starting with one product, in the spirit of "do one thing and do it well". Now I know what that's called! Thank you!

Wholeheartedly agree. I have helped launched 3 different companies over the years successfully without a business plan but a clear idea of what we wanted to do. We have the same attitude! Love your company idea and name! I know this market is not easy to do but it sure is worthy. Speaking as a dog owner of 5 dogs and I have 23 grand dogs, several with allergies to crap ingredients and finding good healthy treats has not been easy! One of the dogs face blows up like a squirrel full of acorns with anything beyond basic beef, chicken etc. We have 6 dogs on a raw diet as a result of allergies! Looking forward to seeing where you go.

Thanks so much, Purdey.

I totally get what you're saying. Remember, your brain is an a$&h0le that will make you miserable if you let it run the show.

I have to give credit to Andee Scarantino of View from the Roof here on Substack. I've been working with her for a little over a month and ... just... wow. 🤯 🤩
